    Ashley Cain, Calum Best and Jonathan Broom-Edwards ‘sign up’ for the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins… as Maisie Smith also agrees to take part


    Ashley Cain, Calum Best and Jonathan Broom-Edwards are the latest stars to sign up for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, after Maisie Smith also confirmed her involvement in the forthcoming show. 

    The group will travel to the remote Isle of Raasay in the Scottish Hebrides for a gruelling series of challenges – but they will have to wait a while longer before discovering what’s in store. 

    A show source told The Sun: ‘In the best traditions of the SAS, this mission is confidential. However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year.’

    Former Ex On The Beach star Ashley takes part following the tragic death of eight-month old daughter Azaylia to acute myeloid leukaemia in April. 

    The bodybuilder, 31, is familiar with the physical demands of endurance based reality shows having previously taken part in MTV series The Challenge. 

    He has also completed a 1,000-mile fundraising bike ride in honour of their daughter, cycling from Lands End to John O’groats over a five day period in September.

    Old hand: Calum will take part having previously signed up for half a dozen reality shows - among them Celebrity Love Island, Celebrity Big Brother and Celebs Go Dating

    Meanwhile Calum, 40, will take part having previously signed up for half a dozen reality shows – among them Celebrity Love Island, Celebrity Big Brother and Celebs Go Dating. 

    And he appears to be ready for the challenge, with the son of late Manchester United and Northern Ireland footballer George Best frequently sharing selfies of his muscular physique from the gym.  

    Paralympian Jonathan Broom-Edwards, 33, has his own advantage having previously represented Great Britain in high jump events.

    The sportsman was born with congenital talipes equinovarus – commonly referred to as club foot – as well as muscular imbalance throughout his body.

    But the physical impairment didn’t stop him winning a gold medal at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo and silver at the Rio Paralympics in 2016. 

    Maisie Smith is reportedly set to take part after quitting her role as Tiffany Butcher on EastEnders. 

    A source told The Sun: ‘Maisie wants to show there’s another side to her beyond the sweet Tiffany she’s been known for playing since she was six.

    ‘She got a glimpse of life beyond EastEnders in Strictly and enjoyed the freedom.

    ‘She’d signed up when she told ‘Enders bosses she was leaving, and can’t wait to get stuck in and prove her grit. She’s determined to give a good account of herself but knows it’ll be tough.’

    The most recent series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins saw Alexandra Burke, Love Island’s Wes Nelson and Paralympian Aled Davies become the only stars to pass the course out of the 12 who took part.
