Arsenal are interested in signing Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this summer and could explore alternative ways of completing a deal. Wolves reportedly value Neves at around £40million and would be willing to sell at that price. However, that would take a sizable chunk out of Arsenal’s transfer budget.

Arsenal’s budget for this summer is not known but the failure to qualify for any European competition will surely mean it is restricted.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is hoping to raise funds for new signings by selling members of his squad.

Midfielder Granit Xhaka looks set to be the first departure which will bring in new funds.

Xhaka is reportedly set to complete a move to Roma this week for a fee of between £15m and £20m.

Lage could bolster his attacking resources with the signing of Nketiah, who has been prolific in front of goal with the under-21s.

    Reiss Nelson

Nelson has the least experience in the Premier League out of this quartet.

Arsenal seem prepared to let the winger leave after making just two substitute appearances in the top flight last season.

Nelson is highly rated at Arsenal but competition for places has severely restricted his chances.
