We’re only four days away from Apple’s next product launch, but iPhone rumors are still running wild in advance of the September 14 ‘California streaming’ event.

The latest states Apple will switch up color options on the Phone 13 lineup, offering the standard and mini editions in pink, replacing the green available for iPhone 12.

The iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 will also reportedly be available in black, blue, purple, white and PRODUCT (RED), MacRumors reported.

The Pro and Pro Max will reportedly deliver in silver and gold, as well as black and bronze, replacing graphite and pacific blue from the iPhone 12.

Now for the bad news: The ongoing chip shortage could hike up the price for iPhone 13, which TrendForce previously reported would maintain the same pricing as the 12: from $699 for a 64GB Pro Mini up to $1,999 for a tricked out Pro Max.

But the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), which controls over half the global foundry market and is Apple’s largest chip supplier, has announced its ‘biggest price hike in a decade,’ according to Nikkei Asia.

That cost may get passed onto Apple customers, especially with TSMC commanding production fees 20 percent higher than its competitors.

The iPhone 13 will use a 5nm chip and, last month, Digitimes reported that TSMC would only raise prices on sub-7nm processors by 5 percent or less.

But prices on TSMC’s ‘mature process technologies’ could spike by as much as 20 percent.

‘The iPhone 11 and iPhone SE use 7nm chips and, if Apple is to keep its rigorous price structures in place, this is likely to have a knock-on effect to other ranges,’ Forbes reported, meaning higher prices than expected for the new iPhone.

In addition, MacRumors also states there will be no 256GB storage option for the 5.4-inch ‘mini’ and 6.1-inch standard models.

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhones at the company's September 14 product launch. Among the many rumors about the new device is that it will come in pink, black and bronze, replacing green, graphite and pacific blue

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will be available only in 64GB and 128GB versions, the site claimed, with the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max available with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB.

All of the new iterations are expected to retain the same screen sizes as the iPhone 12— a 5.4-inch ‘mini’ version, 6.1-inch standard’ model, and 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Pro models.

But the iPhone 13 will be a ‘little thicker,’ ZDNet reported, because Apple plans to bump the battery capacity ‘quite significantly,’  from 3687mAh to 4352mAh on the Pro Max , and 2815mAh to 3095mAh on the Pro and regular models.

Even the iPhone 13 Mini will get a bump, from 2227mAh to 2406mAh.

Adding in talk that the phone’s A15 processor will lower energy consumption by 15 to 20 percent, Kingsley-Hughes predicts the new iPhone could have the best battery life from the company to date.

Apple's newest iPhone may offer technology that lets it connect to satellites, allowing users to make calls and send messages when they're out of range of a 4G or 5G network

Apple’s newest iPhone may offer technology that lets it connect to satellites, allowing users to make calls and send messages when they’re out of range of a 4G or 5G network

Consumers will reportedly get some new features to spend that battery life on: The iPhone 13 is expected to have major upgrades to both its photo- and video-taking capabilities and a smaller notch.

The new smartphone will let users take ‘Cinematic Video’ in portrait mode using a higher-quality format known as ProRes, according to Bloomberg.

The ProRes feature will allow iPhone users to take higher-quality videos, including in HD and 4K formats, and allow professional filmmakers more editing capabilities in post-production work.

In addition, the devices will use machine learning to improve the look and color of photos with a new filter system.

The filter system for the new iPhones will let people control the look of colors and highlights, adding capabilities to view them in warmer or cooler temperatures, as well as other features, such as deeper shadows.

Another popular prediction is that the iPhone 13 will be able to connect to satellites, allowing users to make calls and send messages when they’re out of range from a 4G or 5G network.

TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the new iteration will feature a customized Qualcomm chip that allows for low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite communications, effectively making the next iPhone a satellite phone, according to a report seen by MacRumors.

Kuo claimed Qualcomm is teaming up with Globalstar on the chip, adding that the ‘simplest scenario’ to get connectivity would have network operators, such as AT&T or Verizon, work with Globalstar directly.

If so, customers would be able to use Globalstar’s service with no additional contract or charges.

In July,  images posted to social media in China suggested that the next iPhone would have a larger camera bump with lenses laid out diagonally, allowing users to take better wide-angle and zoomed-in photos.

According to Tom’s Guide, the lenses will also include automatic focus and sensor-shift optical image stabilization (OIS), which help counter shakiness.

Its also been suggested the company may bring back TouchID, as face masks have interfered with some users’ ability to use Face ID.

A less likely rumor is that the new iPhone will be compatible with a ‘reverse charger’ that lets users juice their AirPods, Air Tag, or other small devices just by placing them on the phone while it charges.

The MagSafe charger is also said to be better at keeping the phone from overheating while allowing for a faster recharge.

According to FCC filings, current iPhones already have the ability to reverse wireless charge.

Apple’s California Streaming product launch event will be broadcast starting at 1pm EDT on September 14.

In addition to new iPhones, Apple may unveil new versions of the Apple Watch with flatter edges and a larger display.

The watch will be available in 41- and 45-millimeters sizes, an increase from the 41- and 44-millimeter sizes.

There will be several new watch faces, including a new Infograph Modular face.
