Some are so cross about the decision they have threatened to switch provider with one Three customer adding: “@ThreeUK Your “Go Roam” was the reason I switched to Three many moons ago, looks like I will be switching again soon, bye bye Three UK, shame on you for going with the reintroduction of roaming charges.”
Although it’s clearly a controversial change there is a simple way to beat the hike.
Three says that the roaming update will only affect new customers or those who upgrade their SIM or phone after October 1.
So, as long as you leave your current plan well alone or buy a new device in the next few weeks you’ll still get Three’s ‘Go Roam’ option.
