Angie Kent reveals her endometriosis symptoms have become 'out of control'

Angie Kent has shared  an update on her battle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis.

The Bachelorette posted a video to Instagram Stories about her health woes on Monday, revealing to fans that her symptoms have gotten ‘out of control’. 

Addressing the camera, the 30-year-old said she was excited to visit her skin specialist in Queensland for the first time in three months, after being stuck in Sydney due to border closures.

‘The countdown is on!!! QLD borders are open for home quarantine! So I can finally come home after 3 months of being stuck here [airplane emoji].’ 

Angie also complained about the state of her hair, which appeared dry and damaged due to bleaching and heat-styling.        

‘I can not wait to get home. Look at this hair, oh my god! I’ve been having to wear it up because it’s so bad,’ she told the camera, filming her hair up-close.

She continued: ‘I can’t wait to get back and get my face fixed. Look at this skin… oh my god.’  

In the caption, Angie also revealed that she’s been suffering from skin pigmentation related to PCOS and Endometriosis.  

‘Hormonal pigment back in full swing and hormonal acne from PCOS has been fun [wide-eyed sad emoji]. My symptoms have been out of control lately,’ she wrote. 

‘I’ve been having to wear it up because it’s so bad’: Angie also complained about the state of her hair, which appeared dry and damaged due to bleaching and heat-styling 

‘Also looking forward to seeing my specialist to get on top of this PCOS/Endo madness.’ 

PCOS is a condition that causes a woman to produce an unusually high amount of male hormones. 

The condition can cause female infertility, acne, pigmentation, excess facial or body hair and insulin resistance.

Endometriosis also affects female reproduction, but it differs from PCOS as it is caused by abnormal cell growth outside the uterus.   

Common symptoms include extreme pelvic pain during time of a woman’s period.  

Angie has spoken openly about her struggle with endometriosis in the past, telling TV Week magazine last year that she was ‘relieved’ by the diagnosis. 

‘I finally had answers as to why I’d been in such pain for such a long time,’ she said.

She was first diagnosed with the condition in 2016. Since then, she has undergone several procedures to remove abnormal tissue that has grown outside her uterus.
