    Nemanja Vidic

Having signed from Spartak Moscow in 2006, Vidic was initially forced to play for the U21s after struggling for early form.

Things certainly did not get off to the fast start for the Serbian who, despite being annoyed about being forced to play for the youth side, decsribed his performances as ‘a horror show’.

In fact, he only notched 15 appearances in all competitions during his first season with the club, embarking on a muscle-building mission to become more imposing on Premier League strikers.

After a year of settling in, however, he went on to form one of the most formidable centre-back partnerships in Premier League history with Rio Ferdinand, as well as starring in one of the best chants ever made.
