    Dannie Siobhan replied: “In warmer weather I hang mine over the washing line and spray with a mix of washing liquid and water, give it a scrub with a brush and rinse with the hose then leave it to drip dry.

    “Comes up great every time and easier on the bank account and the landfill.”

    Lesley Summers said: “Hang mine over clothes line, turn hose on, wet the quilt then throw washing powder on it and continue hosing until the water runs clear.”

    One social media user warned cleaning enthusiasts not to put duvets in the washing machine.
