Diamonds (and boosters) are Joan Collins’s best friend: Veteran actress smiles as she receives Covid booster in one arm… and a flu jab in the other
Looking glamorous in jewels and a straw cowboy hat, Dame Joan Collins receives her Covid booster in one arm – and her flu jab in the other.
The actress, 88, said: ‘Diamonds may be for ever but the vaccine is a life-saver.’
She was one of the first people to receive the vaccine in January and now is leading the way once more as the programme enters its next phase.
Millions will receive invitations for a third dose today.

Anyone aged 50 and over and younger people with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of severe Covid-19 are eligible. They must have had their second vaccine at least six months ago.
Earlier this year the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency said people could receive a jab in each arm to help protect them from both Covid-19 and flu.
Dame Joan told the Daily Mail she has had no side-effects, adding: ‘I’m delighted to have received the flu jab and booster at the same time. I encourage everyone to turn up when called.’ She revealed in January that she had received the Oxford jab at the NHS Bloomsbury Surgery in central London, noting she had been jabbed on the same day as the Queen.
The NHS says people should receive either one dose of the Pfizer vaccine for their booster or a half-dose of Moderna. They will be offered a dose of the AstraZeneca-Oxford jab only if the other two are not available.
The programme to vaccinate 12 to 15-year-olds is also starting this week, meaning all children should have a jab booked by October half term.
