Canberra rockers Hands Like Houses are dropped by their record label after ‘serious allegations’ surface about a band member
Canberra band Hands Like Houses have been dropped from their record label amid ‘serious allegations’ about a member.
The label, UNFD, announced the news in a post on its official Facebook page, UNFD Social Club.
‘UNFD has ended its relationship with Hands Like Houses,’ a representative wrote.

‘On Monday evening there was a redacted legal letter posted in Social Club outlining serious allegations against a UNFD artist,’ they continued.
‘We have very little information on the situation other than what has been publicly shared as it is subject to legal proceedings.’
The label also shared that any comments on their Facebook page about the allegations would be removed for legal reasons.
‘We have now been formally notified by the lawyer for one of the parties that we must remove any comments that disclose information about the case otherwise we will be liable and jeopardise any potential legal proceedings,’ they wrote.
‘As the situation develops we will take further action if necessary. Abuse and violence have no place at UNFD and UNIFIED Music Group, and these values continue to guide all decision-making now and in the future.’

The post received a mix response from fans, with some announcing that they would ‘wait and see’ what happens with the situation, while others urged UNFD to cut all ties with the band.
Hands Like Houses formed in Canberra in 2008 and released their first EP Ground Dweller in 2012.
They’ve had quite a bit of success both at home and internationally, charting four albums on the Billboard 200.
The band also cracked the top ten of Australia’s ARIA charts twice, first with 2016’s Dissonants and then again with 2018’s Anon.
