    Dr. Phil hit the court to ring in his 71st birthday with an epic, four-day long tennis extravaganza thrown by his wife, Robin McGraw.

    Robin pulled out all the stops for her husband of 45 years and invited Dr. Phil’s tennis buddies from Los Angeles and Dallas to stay at the couple’s new Texas home for a weekend of festivities.

    The best-selling author gave DailyMailTV an exclusive behind the scenes look at the McGraw’s new state-of-the-art tennis court and their first ever LA vs. Texas tennis tournament.

    ‘Everybody asks me what I do in my spare time,’ Dr. Phil revealed. ‘I play tennis.’

    It was Dr. Phil’s decades long love of the sport that served as Robin’s inspiration for his outrageous birthday soiree this year and no detail was too small.

    ‘I thought, okay, it’s his birthday coming up. Let’s do a big weekend focused on him and his friends,’ Robin told DailyMailTV.

    The lifestyle expert designed a tennis-themed bash for her husband and brought together a small group of his friends from Los Angeles and Dallas to the couple’s new estate.

    'Everybody asks me what I do in my spare time,' Dr. Phil revealed. 'I play tennis.'

    ‘I have to start out by saying this house is under construction,’ she explained, showing off the stunning property. ‘Phillip himself designed the tennis court – the first thing done – finished a few weeks ago.’

    His new court was a labor of love and it’s what got Robin’s creative wheels turning to plan a weekend of nonstop, good old fashioned fun for the boys.

    ‘I have 350 beach balls that look like tennis balls, beach towels everywhere, I outfitted the billiard room with pinball machines, pool table, movie candy,’ Robin dished.

    The I’ve Got a Secret podcast host could give any party planner a run for their money as she seemingly thought of everything for the big birthday weekend.

    Upon walking in one lucky guest exclaimed: ‘That is insane!’ Proud and grateful, Dr. Phil took his pals on a tour of the luxurious new home and showed off all the special touches, big and small, that Robin thought of.

    ‘This is the photo booth, essentially,’ he said while pointing out a funky wall-to-wall balloon display.

    'It's really cute,' Robin laughed. 'I found squirt bottles that have batteries that can blow misting waters and fans on them.'

    ‘I’ve got friends I’ve been playing with here for 30 years and friends I’ve been playing with in LA for 20 years. So, it’s LA vs. Dallas and we’ve been having a good time for four days.’

    The guys volleyed back and forth on the court between dips in a sparkling pool, games in the billiard room and a seriously impressive spread of snacks.

    ‘This is a lot of tennis history in this room,’ Dr. Phil said during an impromptu speech. ‘I’m really flattered that you guys all carved the time out to come and play and celebrate this court.’

    By the end of the weekend one city reigned supreme and will no doubt be itching for Robin to plan next year’s party so they can defend their title.

    The Los Angeles team captain proudly took hold of a custom McGraw Tennis Tournament trophy and raised it up for the crowd.

    ‘We’ve both played on some of the best courts in the world and I think we can all say this is one of the most amazing courts we’ve ever played on,’ one party goer said.

    Dr. Phil’s September birthday came just in time to wrap up the summer holiday before he and Robin head back to Los Angeles for season 20 of The Dr. Phil Show, which premieres on September 13.
