Arsenal have completed the signing of Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United on a long-term deal. The 23-year-old is the club’s fifth arrival of the summer transfer window and follows Martin Odegaard, who was unveiled as a new Gunners player earlier on Friday, to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal had been pushing to sign Ramsdale for a number of weeks in order to provide Bernd Leno with some additional competition between the sticks.
Sheffield United will receive an initial £24million for the former Bournemouth stopper, a figure that could rise by a further £6m in add-ons, according to The Athletic.
Ramsdale will wear the No 32 shirt during his time at Arsenal after penning a four-year contract with the option of a fifth.
