Emergency services rushed to move people from Adventure Island, by the seafront, following the incident.
One of those caught up tweeted: “Not sure what’s happening we have been evacuated out of Adventure Island due to a code Red.
“There’s loads of Police and other Emergency services here.”
Another added: “Southend sea front amusement park erupts in to panics security guard is Stabbed.”
