Back in June this year, Aldi announced its plans to open 400 new stores in the UK in the coming months and years. The discount retailer explained it was starting to look for suitable sites for its new branches in England, Wales, and Scotland.

The supermarket is recruiting for roles on its shop floors, regional distribution centres, and head office.

Positions available include caretakers, cleaners, managers, and store apprentices.

Aldi is also looking for 80 graduates to join its next graduate scheme, which will start from September this year.

Giles Hurley, Aldi Chief Executive, said: “As we continue to invest in new stores, bringing unbeatable Aldi prices to millions of customers, we’re looking for thousands more colleagues to join our incredible teams across the country.

“That’s why, more so than ever, we’re keen to explore all opportunities to open new stores across the country.”

The majority of the first 50 store openings will be in town centres, edge of city centres, retail parks, and metropolitan locations.

Aldi has shared the locations of its first few openings, but the rest has not been confirmed yet.

However, the supermarket has unveiled target areas of its future openings.

In England, these include Brighton, Oxford, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, and parts of London.

In Scotland, Edinburgh, Dumbarton, and Shotts are target locations.

Meanwhile, in Wales, 30 sites are being looked at, including in Cardiff, Newport, Pwllheli, and Caernarfon.
