    Asked if he will replace the departed Sergio Aguero, Guardiola added: “I spoke about that at the end of last season if it would happen.

    “It depends if it is possible. If [it is] we do it, if not we go without a striker.”

    Meanwhile, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted to back up the FA Cup success in May with another piece of silverware.

    Rodgers told BBC Radio Leicester: “There was a great feeling coming here today. Every Leicester player, fan, staff member coming here, it was a really special feeling.

    “We wanted to take that into the game and keep that feeling going, and thankfully we’ve done that.”
