UK energy price hike: How millions could save £150 by switching supplier as prices rise

Lawmakers and experts are urging energy customers to switch to cheaper plans.

This comes after regulator Ofgem said bills could increase by at least £139, or even up to £150, annually.

Fifteen million families throughout the UK could see this rise in their bill from October.

In a blog post last week, Ofgem Chief Executive Jonathan Brearley said that the increase in wholesale fuel costs would contribute to the new energy price cap.

This is to be announced today, August 6.
