Jimmy Nicholson’s season of The Bachelor had the lowest-ever audience for a season premiere last week, and it’s only been downhill from there.

And as the ratings continue to decline – going from 482,000 to 360,000 in a week – viewers are complaining on social media about the ‘boring’ episodes.

Fans have flocked to Twitter to share their brutally honest verdict on the show so far, including one who tweeted during the July 21 premiere: ‘Okay, I’m bored already.’

Another wrote: ‘I tried to watch The Bachelor, I really did. Most years I at least watch just for a glimpse of Osher [Günsberg, the host]. But 20 minutes was enough.

‘Inane bitching, zero interactions between the Bachelor and the women, too much high pitched squealing and giggling, deafening soundtrack. Over it. Moving to SBS docos and films.’

A third tweeted: ‘The Bachelor is definitely past its use-by date.’

One frustrated viewer remarked: ‘The Bachelor received its lowest ratings ever. Is anyone surprised?  This pathetic excuse for TV/entertainment is ridiculous!’

Elsewhere in the Twittersphere, viewers compared Channel 10’s flagship dating show to Nine’s superior Beauty and the Geek.

‘After watching Beauty and the Geek, I have to say that it’s so much more enjoyable than The Bachelor,’ one wrote.

Another had a similar opinion, tweeting: ‘The contrast between BATG and The Bachelor is ridiculous. I just want to see people being nice to each other and having fun. Is that so much to ask?’

However, some fans said they were enjoying the ninth season of The Bachelor.

One supportive viewer tweeted: ‘This season of The Bachelor is absolutely top shelf. Channel 10 have really brought their A-game.

‘Jimmy gives me vibes that I haven’t felt since Matty J so I’m very happy,’ another added, referring to Matty Johnson’s 2017 season.

It comes after The Project host Lisa Wilkinson last week declared Jimmy’s season of The Bachelor ‘the best ever’.

However, the dating show delivered its lowest ever premiere ratings ever last Wednesday with a metro audience of just 482,000 viewers.

It was decimated by the finale of Seven’s Farmer Wants a Wife, which recorded its best ratings of the season with 853,000, almost doubling that of The Bachelor.

The ratings for pilot Jimmy Nicholson’s first episode were so bad, even a repeat of Hard Quiz on the ABC triumphed in the numbers.

Last night’s episode of The Bachelor was the lowest rated in the franchise’s history, drawing an abysmal metro audience of 360,000.
