Trains between Leeds and Bradford have been cancelled following the discovery of the unexploded World War 2 bomb between Guiseley and Ilkley in West Yorkshire. Buses are being put on instead of trains.
National Rail confirmed the bomb had been found and issued a statement which read: “Network Rail staff have found what is believed to be an unexploded bomb near the railway.
“For safety, both lines are closed between Guiseley and Ilkley.
“Trains to and from these stations will be cancelled.
“Disruption is expected until 1pm.”
Northern Assist tweeted: “Due to a wartime bomb near the railway between Guiseley and Ilkley all lines are blocked.
“Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled.
“Disruption is expected until 13:00 26/07.”
Rail replacement transport will run between Guiseley and Shipley in both directions every half hour.
