Royal Mail will keep customers updated on any delays in the UK. This is the latest changes to services this week.

Royal Mail stated: “The Customer Service Point at our Dunstable Delivery Office, located at 59 High Street North, Dunstable, LU6 1JH, is closed for health and safety reasons, due to water damage caused by a roof leak.

“If you’ve had a ‘Something for you’ or ‘Fee to Pay’ card left, you can avoid any unnecessary trips by booking a redelivery at royalmail.com/redelivery.

“Alternative posting facilities can be accessed at the Queensway Post Office, 13 Queensway, Dunstable, LU5 4ET.”

In the rest of the UK, it stated services will largely be running as normal.

    DON’T MISS

“We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week,” a post states.

“If resourcing issues, associated self-isolation and safety measures prevent this, we’ll deliver at least every other day.

“It’s only in extreme cases – where offices are severely affected by absence levels – that this may not be possible.”

While Royal Mail said there are no specific areas with known delays, some shoppers may still have to wait.

Delays have been caused by resourcing issues as colleagues follow coronavirus guidance.

The post continued: “Due to resourcing issues, associated self-isolation and safety measures, deliveries in some areas are likely to be disrupted this week.

“We aim to deliver at least every other day in these areas, though this may not always be possible in offices temporarily affected by very high levels of absence.”

For those affected by delays, Royal Mail stated it is working hard to minimise how long they have to wait.

It continued: “During these unprecedented times, we continue to work hard to collect, process and deliver the UK’s mail.

“However, despite our best endeavours, it’s likely some areas of the country will experience some level of disruption due to coronavirus-related absences at local mail centres or delivery offices.

“We’re sorry about this. Every item of mail is important to us, so we’re working hard to keep any delays to a minimum.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
