England fans across the UK have been preparing since Wednesday to celebrate the first time in 55 years since the Three Lions secured a spot in the final of a major tournament. Following the team’s top performance through the Euros, supporters have now said they are “confident” England is set to deliver and bring the trophy home. Fans preparing to witness the historic England v Italy clash at Croydon’s Boxpark paid tribute to the players as well as coach Gareth Southgate for their amazing work so far.
One supporter told ITV News: “He’s kept unity, he got the country together.
“He deserves all the credit. Absolute credit. Massively confident, I think we’re better than the Italians – I’m going to say 2-1 in extra time.”
Another England fan said: “I think it’s going to be 2-1 England. I think it’s coming home.
“The first final in 55 years, it has to happen now. If it doesn’t happen now, I don’t think it will. It’s coming home.”
