The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge dropped in to chat to volunteers and young people at the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit (SVRU) in Cockenzie earlier in the week. The SVRU is a joint project backed by the police and the Scottish government which attempts to deal with the root causes of violence. The royal couple watched as youngsters performed martial arts, produced music tracks and carried out bicycle maintenance.
The activities were organised by a community organisation, called Heavy Sound.
Kate delighted her hosts when she gamely stepped up to try her hand at making some electronic dance music.
Much to the amusement of William, she struggled to master the arts of being a DJ.
The Duke of Cambridge pleaded with his wife to stop, saying “it’s hurting my ears,” before quipping “I’m not sure it’s number one material yet.”
As they were about to leave, William then made a sweet gesture as a token of redemption for his cheeky comments.
Spotting Kate’s clutch bag on the leather sofa, the Duke swooped to pick it up, before passing it to his wife.

“Always looking out for her.”
Another wrote: “Btw, love how William hold Catherine’s purse while she’s DJ’ing.”
While a third said: “I was going to say the same thing and it’s not the first time either.”
