And Lela Rochon’s daughter, Asia Rochon Fuqua, slipped into her mother’s iconic red dress from the 1995 Waiting to Exhale premiere for her senior prom.
The 57-year-old actress was positively beaming as she shared photos from her daughter’s big night while reminiscing on her own shining moment years ago.

Asia looked stunning in the strapless silk number which featured a structured corset top and short train.
Rochon even managed to save the matching scarf with ribbons of beaded tassels woven onto the ends.

Asia parted her hair down the middle and looked effortlessly glamorous thanks to makeup artist Adam Christopher.
No detail was missed as it appeared as though Asia also wore a small gold cross necklace just like her mom’s from the big night nearly three decades ago.
Holly Robinson Peete commented with a few heart eye emojis while Gabrielle Union wrote: ‘So so beautiful.’

Waiting to Exhale was Rochon’s big break into the acting world and was the first film to be adapted from a book by Terry McMillan.
The iconic 1995 movie also starred Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine and Whitney Houston, and followed the love lives of four friends in Phoenix, Arizona.
Directed by Forest Whitaker, the film grossed $81million worldwide and won several NAACP Image Awards for both the film and soundtrack, produced by Babyface.
