Police have now opened an investigation. Officers were called at around 11.45pm on Monday to reports of a teenager stabbed in Oval Place. They and the London Ambulance Service attended but tragically, the 16-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made at this early stage. The youngster’s next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.
The Met added formal identification and a post-mortem will be arranged in due course.
Witnesses are yet to speak with police.
