Dr Jill Biden appeared to commiserate with the Duchess of Cambridge during an “awkward” moment, according to royal commentators. The two women had been holding a press conference during a school visit as part of the G7 summit. Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie reacted to Kate’s response to a question about the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new daughter.
Ms Fiorito analysed the exchange, telling listeners: “Kate’s face when she got asked that question, I feel like her eyes were like ugh.
“Her assistants were then obviously like ‘this is over’ and cut it off.
“I love that Jill Biden just sips her water politely when they come up.
“She was like, ‘I know this is so awkward’. That has to be a meme.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that their new child had been born on June 4.
They also revealed that they had named her Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
The choices are in tribute to the Queen and Princess Diana.
According to Palace sources, Harry texted Kate to inform her of the birth.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also posted their congratulations to social media.
