Bale was also grateful to play in front of a crowd in Baku and paid tribute to the small number of visiting Welsh fans.
He said: “Yeah [the atmosphere] actually helped because playing in front of no fans is difficult to get your adrenaline going and really push to get to the levels that you need to get to.
“So the fans were fantastic, I know most of them were Turkish, but the Welsh fans were incredible again.
“There weren’t many but they made it loud and they made us keep going.
“They’re the Red Wall, obviously we want to thank the fans at home for supporting us as well and I’m sure they’ll be cheering in their millions tonight.”
