Boris under pressure: UK covid cases see biggest rise since February as June 21 on brink

A further 7,738 positive tests were recorded in the UK today, the largest total on a Saturday since February 20. Over the past week 47,868 fresh infections were reported, which is a weekly increase of 52.5 percent. It comes at a crucial time for Boris Johnson, as on Monday he will announce whether the June 21 lockdown reopening will go ahead as planned.
