A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services are at the scene of a serious collision on the A1. The incident happened at 7.48am today and involved a single vehicle. The driver and passengers of the vehicle are believed to have serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
“Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police. Dial 101, press 1 and pass information to the force control room.”
