Earlier this year, fans were thrilled when the late Queen Elizabeth II performed a skit with Paddington Bear for her Platinum Jubilee. The sketch led to Brian May and Adam Lambert’s performance where they sang a number of Queen songs. Discussing that moment on Good Morning Britain, Brian admitted he was unsure whether the monarch would start off the performance.
Susanna Reid began: “I want to take you just back to this remarkable moment, Brian.
“When you managed to persuade our wonderful late Queen, to take part in the beat of We Will Rock You.
“It’s one of the moments of Platinum Jubilee celebrations that everybody was moved by.
“But that moment where she uses the teaspoon to just clink the teacup. What was that like for you?”

“It’s a very proud moment, really,” Brian replied before adding: “I didn’t actually personally persuade her, I don’t want to give you any false impressions.
“It was done through many intermediaries like the BBC and the people who are organising the show.”
“I’m not ready to tell the whole story,” The Queen star continued.
“But somebody had to arrange it, and obviously I thought the best way to start this thing was by We Will Rock You as it’s the most recognisable thing, it’s the most iconic thing.
Brian went on to recall how he suggested if they couldn’t get the Queen to take part, then perhaps another member of the Royal Family would.
“But there was a deafening silence for a long time until the evening before the show,” Brian told Susanna and Ed Balls.
“And then finally we were told, ‘Yes, we got her Majesty.’
“I actually asked her to be tapping a pencil, but they got her doing the teacups, which I think was a masterstroke.
