Lewis Hamilton fires back at Fernando Alonso over world title comments before Mexican GP

    After Alonso’s assessment circulated, the Alpine veteran felt the need to clarify what he meant by the interview on social media. “And again… Please, all the titles are amazing, well deserved and inspiring,” he wrote. “Incomparable to each other and let’s enjoy champions and legends of our current time. Tired of the continuous search for headlines. Let’s enjoy them.”

    Both Hamilton and Alonso made it to Q3 on Saturday to secure a pair of top-10 starts for Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix. The Spaniard will line up ninth on the grid while Hamilton posted the third-fastest lap time, with many feeling as though Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez represents Mercedes’ best chance to secure what has proven to be an elusive win in 2022.
