Presenter Carol Vorderman was joined by Ashley Banjo to celebrate the best of the UK for this year’s Pride of Britain Awards on Thursday. However, a sizable chunk of the audience couldn’t help getting distracted by the 61-year-old TV personality’s glamourous look for the ITV awards show.
Fans have taken to Twitter in a frenzy to compliment Carol on her Pride of Britain look.
Tom Bird tweeted: “I’ve got to say Carol Vorderman looks fantastic!!”
While ITV viewer @clarecrichton feared a wardrobe malfunction could be on the way: “Carol is gonna burst out of that dress!”
“Wow, doesn’t @carolvorders look amazing!” @socialmediajon1 exclaimed.

And @thomasoxley quipped: “Carol Vorderman is boasting two of her very own Pride of Britain Awards this year!!! I think she’s aiming to look like Jessica Rabbit!”
Carol received similar comments when she gave her 274,000 followers on Instagram a preview of her look on social media.
@dazchloe1017 replied: “Shame [it’s] not live, [you’re] looking amazing.”
And @bigbrands.direct commented: “Watching you on This Morning whilst doing my cleaning is my guilty pleasure when I get home from work.”
On her Twitter page, Carol posted: “Elizabeth sustained life-changing third-degree burns and after 70 operations she decided to run a mile a day for 26 days.
“[She] raised an AMAZING £202,000 for the people who helped her. You are so inspirational, beautiful girl.”
Many viewers were reduced to tears when Elizabeth’s inspiring story was revealed before she was presented with her award.
@MarieLomas2 replied to Carol’s tweet: “Dear little Elizabeth, what a beautiful little girl.”
“How dare people make fun of her! She’s amazing, and she’ll do brilliantly.” (sic)
Elizabeth’s award was presented by the entire cast of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, including judges Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas.
Carol went on to pay tribute to many more inspiring Brits, including Community Hero Michelle Donnelly and Young Fundraiser Tobias.
