‘Boosts’ and ‘Roses’ and ‘Super Likes’! Dating apps like Tinder and OKCupid promise vaccinated users more matches as an incentive to get jab

Tinder, OKCupid, Hinge and other dating apps have found a new way to encourage users to get coronavirus vaccines.
Those who say they have received a COVID-19 vaccination can add a badge to their profile that says ‘I’m Vaccinated’ then get access to premium content such as ‘boost’ and ‘super swipes.’
The apps also are adding filters to show only vaccinated matches, as well as promotions and links to vaccine.gov to help individuals find vaccine locations.

The campaigns will launch in June and run until July 4.
The plan announced Friday is an effort to help the White House get 70 percent of US adults at least one vaccine jab by July 4.

Dating apps saw a surge in users amid the coronavirus pandemic, as millions were isolated in their homes.

Match Group announced it generated more than $544 million in revenue during the first quarter of 2020, which was a 17 percent increase year-over-year.
In the coming weeks, users will be able to share their vaccination status with potential mates, and search for those who also have received the jab.

Those on Tinder can add a variety of stickers to their profile including ‘I’m Vaccinated’ or ‘Vaccines Save Lives.’ Tinder will give those who support the campaign a free ‘Super Like’ to help them stand out among potential matches.
Tinder also is launching a ‘Vaccine Center’ with a suite of resources to educate and connect members with their nearest vaccination site.
Members of Match and OkCupid will receive a badge, along with a free ‘Boost’ to help them stand out.
Vaccinated Hinge users get a free ‘Rose’ and singles using Plenty of Fish can add an ‘I Got My Shot’ badge along with 20 Live! Credits to use the app’s live streaming feature.

BLK is adding a new ‘Vaxified’ profile badge for singles to show their support in ending the COVID-19 pandemic.
When the badge is added to their profile, users get a free ‘Boost’ on the app to be one of the first profiles seen by their matches.
Chispa will add a new ‘Vacunado’ profile badge for Latinx singles to show their support for ending the pandemic. Singles who add the badge will get a free ‘Boost,’ making them one of the first profiles to be seen by their matches.
According to the New York Times coronavirus vaccination tracker, more than 279 million Americans have received a vaccine.
