Activist James Skeet has defended the ongoing protests by Just Stop Oil as reports emerge of the protestors disrupting emergency vehicles in central London on Tuesday. Mr Skeet was speaking to Patrick Christys on GB news where the climate activist warned that Britain is moving towards a “societal collapse” amid the reports of weather change and crop failure.
On Tuesday, campaign group Just Stop Oil blocked three roads in Knightsbridge and Brompton Road, bringing all traffic to a halt as a part of their protest that entered its 11th day.
Videos shared online show emergency crews were unable to get through.
When grilled by GB news host on why the emergency vehicles were blocked, Mr Skeet said: “I think it’s ridiculous. It’s down to doctors, nurses, and cleaners to be on the road demanding what the Government should just be doing.
“But why are we not talking about the real disruption here? When we hit 40C, the London fire service had the busiest day since the blitz. Why are we not talking about that?
“One of our people advising the ambulance to go around the traffic. We have a blue line policy and we have always had a blue line policy.
“In fact, after the inter-Britain campaign last year, the ambulance services were contacted and there was not a single ambulance service that was disrupted.
“Do you understand the seriousness of our situation? We are heading toward serious societal collapse where things are going.
“We have extreme weather events, crop failure, people, and societal collapse.”

A spokesperson for the protest group said: “Just Stop Oil policy is, and always has been, to let blue light emergency services through.”
Meanwhile, the Met police have arrested 28 anti-oil protesters following a demonstration in west London.
