When asked who she would rather have as Prime Minister, the SNP leader responded: “That’s not a difficult question, if the question to me is would I prefer a Labour government over a Tory government?
“I detest the Tories and everything they stand for, so it’s not difficult to answer that question, so yes.”
Concerns were raised by Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi about Sturgeon’s comments and accused her of using “dangerous language.”
The SNP leader clarified her controversial comments and stated: “If the controversy surrounding the SNP conference is that I said I don’t care very much for the Conservative party policies or values then the rest of the conference must be going pretty well.”
During the interview, Sally probed Swinney and asked: “Do you detest the Tories?”
To which he responded: “The First Minister said she detested Conservative policies and the values of the Conservative party and I associate myself with those comments.
“Because I think what’s clear is the Conservatives are taking the United Kingdom in a direction which is profoundly damaging for many people in our society.”
