Nigel Benn states that his son is a ‘clean athlete’ despite failing a VADA drugs test leading to his October 8 clash with Chris Eubank Jr being postponed.

The British boxing legend made his thoughts known during a recent video uploaded to social media. “Hi guys, as you know we’re in total shock,” said Nigel. “I’ve been with my son for the last ten weeks and the training has absolutely gone the best it could have been.

“He’s a dedicated trainer, he leaves no stone unturned and we’ll get to the bottom of this, I love my son. I know he don’t cut no corners, he just goes straight at it 100 per cent but we’ll keep you informed, we’ll let you know what the next step is.

“But he’s a faithful trainer and a clean athlete, speak to you all soon, God bless.”

Nigel’s statement comes after Conor Benn returned adverse findings for the banned substance clomifene in a sample A drugs test carried out by VADA.
