Nicola Sturgeon said she has yet to receive a phone call from the newly-elected Prime Minister despite Liz Truss having been on the job for a month. The First Minister branded the situation as “unprecedented”, telling Good Morning Britain she had previously shared calls with Ms Truss’ predecessors within days of them entering Number 10. She insisted “the ball is in her court” as she claimed Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford had also yet to be contacted by Ms Truss.
Ms Sturgeon said: “It’s not just me. To the best of my knowledge, the same is true for the First Minister of Wales.
“We met in Edinburgh just last week, or the week before, that was certainly the case for both of us then.
“Am I surprised? In one sense no because this is the politician who, when the contest to be Prime Minister [was on], talked about ignoring me and said other things about devolved administrations. She clearly doesn’t have a lot of respect there.”
