Brits could face heavy showers in places on Wednesday as temperatures look set to fall to single figures. According to the Met Office, heavier rain could hit parts of southeast Scotland and northern England.
In its weather forecast for Wednesday, the Met Office said: “A mixture of sunshine and showers, most frequent near northwest facing coasts at first, whilst a few showers will develop inland.
“Spell of heavier rain and freshening winds for parts of southeast Scotland and northern England later.”
The UK’s national weather service added: “Area of cloud and rain moving south across rest of England and Wales and turning more showery.
“Clear and chilly ahead of this.

“Some showers near north facing coasts.”
Two flood alerts are also in place at the Humber estuary from Spurn Point to Winestead Outfall and North Wales, according to England’s Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales.
The alert on the Humer estuary, which means flooding is possible, came as strong winds and spring tides may cause large waves and spray overtopping on the coast.
Meanwhile, the North Wales alert comes with an additional warning.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the single figures until around 3pm.
Mercury could even hit as high as 14C later on Wednesday but will fall again around midnight.
