Rashad Robinson, the consulting producer of the show and president of Color Of Change, said that although the series was about Jeffrey, it was also about the victims and the impact it had on communities.

In an interview by Ryan Murphy Productions, Rashad shared: “At its core, this is a story of deep and systemic injustice, of people who were harmed and all the ways in which society failed them.”

After Jeffrey was arrested in 1991, he admitted to 15 of the 17 crimes committed and entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity before changing it to “guilty but insane”.

However, two years after his arrest Jeffrey was killed in jail at the hands of a fellow inmate Christopher Scarver.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is available on Netflix.
