Radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands tells Jackie O' that he's going to be a 'great dad' on air 

Radio host Kyle Sandilands has hinted that he is heading into fatherhood. 

The KIIS FM shock jock made the surprising revelation on Friday’s Kyle and Jackie O’ show when he and co-host Jackie O’ Henderson discussed parenting. 

Kyle, 50, said that he’d make a good father after confirming he was trying for a baby with long-time girlfriend Tegan Kynaston.

‘I’m going to be such a good dad,’ the radio host said. 

‘I‘ll put them in a wooden cage (if they misbehave) … I’m not putting up with anything,’ he jokingly added.

Baby rumours have been circulating Kyle and Tegan for months.

Kyle recently told Jackie and the KIIS listeners that he had undergone a fertility test recently.  

‘We tested my (sperm) the other day … my girlfriend said to me, ‘Hey we want a baby’. Better test it to make sure I’m not blowing out dust,’ he said. 

Kyle confirmed earlier this year that the couple were indeed trying for a baby.

The shock jock let slip the news during a segment with psychic Georgina Walker in early August.

‘We have decided that we’ll try for a baby, I suppose,’ he told Georgina. ‘There’s a lot of pressure. I didn’t want to bring it up in case she feels pressure.’ 

While he was initially reluctant about having children early on in his career,  Kyle told Daily Mail Australia in July that his perspective had changed.

‘When you find the right person, things just feel right and it feels very natural to just go down that road,’ he said.

‘It’s only been as I get older that I think, “Maybe that is something that I want to start looking at.”‘  

Kyle and Tegan have been dating since late 2019, following the end of his eight-year relationship with model and fashion designer Imogen Anthony.

Before these relationships he was married to singer Tamara Jaber from 2008 to 2010.
