Fear The Walking Dead: Sarah Rabinowitz embarks on dangerous mission to find her missing 'twin'

Sarah Rabinowitz went on a risky adventure in her quest to find her missing ‘twin’ brother on Sunday night’s episode of Fear The Walking Dead on AMC.

The episode titled Breathe With Me opened with Sarah [Mo Collins] waking up in a bed disoriented and with no idea where she was. She looked in a mirror and saw she had a cut on her forehead. She wandered through a Spanish-style home looking for anyone else.

‘Hello,’ she said and no one answered.

Just then a zombie walked into the living room and she quickly grabbed a nearby weapon. 

As she struggled with the trigger, Althea Szewczyk-Przygocki [Maggie Grace] shot the zombie from the top of the stairs.

‘You’re awake,’ Althea said. ‘She’s awake!’

Daniel Salazar [Rubén Blades], Wes [Colby Hollman] and Charlie [Alexa Nisenson] rushed in to see her.

Luciana Galvez [Danay Garcia] walked in and said, ‘Welcome back.’

Sarah asked them how long she was out and Luciana told her two days. Sarah asked where they were and Althea told her it was a place called Fort San Vicente in the safe zone. She said it was decommissioned in the 60’s and that some rich guy bought it and turned it into a B & B.

‘How did I get here,’ asked Sarah.

She told them that the last thing she remembered was the bomb went off and there was a chopper. Althea told her the helicopter’s engine, which had a CRM logo, overheated and the pilot set down a few miles short. Sarah asked her who the pilot was.

‘It’s better if you don’t know,’ Althea said.

Daniel told Sarah that Althea also wouldn’t tell him the identity of the pilot. Wes told Sarah that they went through a rough landing and she hit her head and got knocked unconscious. They told her that Jacob Kessner [ Peter Jacobson] had been the one that had been really taking care of her.

Sarah looked around and wanted to know where her adoptive brother Wendell [Daryl Mitchell]. They told her that they hadn’t been able to find him.

‘What are we sitting here for, let’s go find him,’ said Sarah as she walked to the door.

The group tried to stop her and told her that it wasn’t safe outside.

‘I’d step aside if you want to keep your teeth,’ Sarah said to Luciana who stood in her way.

Luciana said it was even more dangerous out there than they even imagined. Althea said that the pilot already gave them just enough courses of shots of medicine to save them. Luciana told Sarah that if she went outside that she would die.

Sarah told them that however hard they looked for Wendell that she would look harder.

‘He’s alive and I will find him,’ said Sarah.

During her days at the Spanish home, Sarah would go outside on top of a green hill with a walkie talkie and the computer used them to call for Wendell over the radio.

‘If you are out there Wendell, I want you to know I’m still looking,’ said Sarah.

One day when she was just about to give up, Morgan’s voice came over the radio. She told him that hearing his voice was music to her ears because she thought he was dead. He said he was okay and so was Grace and they were in the Pennsylvania submarine. Morgan asked her if she knew where Wendell was and she told him that was what she was trying to figure out. He asked her to tell her where she was and that he would come to her. She tried to describe their location, but then the walkie talkie cut out.

Sarah looked then noticed that there was a truck parked near her. She walked up and saw that Rufus, the dog, was inside the truck, She opened the door and let Rufus run free. Then she heard a noise coming from a box in the truck. She opened it and saw it contained a zombie head.

‘Step away from my brother,’ said Josiah LaRoux [Demetrius Grosse], as he cocked his gun and aimed it at her.

She asked him why her brother’s head was in a box with Morgan’s name on it.

‘Your friend’s head was meant to be in that box, not my brother,’ he said.

Sarah then realized she was talking to Emile LaRoux’s twin brother. She told him that his brother was a psycho and that she was sure that he deserved it. Then she asked him what his ‘beef’ had to do with her.

Josiah said he had been tracking her for days.

‘You’re the one who is going to help me find Mr. Jones,’ said Josiah with his gun pointed at Sarah.

Josiah said he heard her on the radio and asked her if the Pennsylvania was a hotel or restaurant. A zombie came behind him and when Josiah turned to kill it Sarah tried to grab his gun. Josiah then pointed his gun back at her.

‘Shoot me if you want a**hole, but I don’t rat out my friends to human guillotines,’ said Sarah.

‘I’d reconsider it if I were you,’ said Josiah. ‘Because I’m the only hope you have of finding your brother.’

He urged her to accept her offer. He said when wanted to find someone that he would stop at nothing. He gave her a deal – ‘Morgan Jones in exchange for your brother.’

He handed her his police radio and told her to tell Morgan to meet them outside the rest stop off exit 74 at dawn tomorrow. Sarah told him that they had to find Wendell first. Sarah took the radio and said ‘Morgan you copy.’

Sarah got in Josiah’s Park Ranger cruiser along with Rufus, who had returned. When Josiah found out that Sarah had these anti-radiation blue pills, he asked her to share them. She said she only took enough for her and Wendell. He asked her how long her brother had been missing and she said 78 days.

‘And you think he is still alive?’ asked Josiah.

‘Wendell’s a fighter,’ said Sarah.

Josiah asked her if she had anything that belongs to him. She handed him something and he gave it to Rufus who smelled it and then ran out. Josiah insisted before they moved on that he needed to bury the zombies that he had just killed.

She called him a ‘stone cold psycho’ for driving around with his brother’s severed head on this vendetta to kill Morgan. Sarah said he was a dead man.

‘What makes you think you are going to be able to do what your brother couldn’t,’ said Sarah.

Rufus started barking. He came upon a van of masked men that was corralling zombies. Josiah made the man take off his mask. Sarah looked at the dead in the van and said that none of them were Wendell. Sarah asked him what he was doing with the dead and the man said that he was just supposed to spread them around. They realized that all the zombies in the man’s truck were naked and Josiah asked the man what he did with their clothes. Josiah then told the man to strip because he said that he was hiding something.

Rufus then sniffed through the man’s clothes and found a red bandana which had Wendell’s scent on it. Josiah asked the man to show them where he found it. The man, who was wearing only underwear, took him to a stable where hundreds of dead were corralled, some naked, and there were piles of clothes on the floor.

‘So this is what you do? strip them of all their worldly possessions,’ said Josiah.

‘Something like that,’ said the man.

Sarah looked at the zombies and said that Wendell wasn’t there, but then she saw his bloody wheelchair. Enraged, she demanded to know where he was.

‘The skin bag who was tangled in it?’ asked the man. ‘He’s probably crawling around here if you want to look.’

Sarah tried to hit him, but instead the man opened up the corals of zombies and ran off. Sarah ran to the car to escape the zombies leaving Josiah behind. Morgan was on the radio when she got in the car and said that he was on the way to the meet up point and begged her to tell her what was going on. She tried to drive off without Josiah but he ran and managed to get in the car.

‘Have you lost your mind,’ said Josiah. ‘We had a deal and I kept up my end.’

‘He’s dead,’ said Sarah. ‘You know it, I know it. We are done!’

Sarah tried to push Josiah out of the car, but he fought her. The struggle caused Sarah to lose control of the truck and it crashed over a cliff. When Sarah and Joshua woke up they realized they were stuck in the car jammed in by rocks. Sarah looked out the window and saw they were 50 feet from a warhead and then zombies started pounding on the back of the car. She started to panic and couldn’t breathe.

Josiah told her to relax and that they would get out of here. He said this was what he used to do and that he was a search and rescue park Ranger for 15 years. He said he needed her to call Morgan to rescue them.

‘So you can put his head in the box?’ said Sarah.

He told her there was only one other time when he had to be rescued himself. He said it happened when he was trying to rescue hikers that were trapped in forest fire and that his twin brother knew he was still alive. He said Rufus found him. He said he knew when his brother was dead because he felt it. Josiah said Sarah would know if Wendell was dead and that she would feel it. She called Morgan on the radio to help them. Josiah asked her if she was going to honor their deal. Sarah said they would keep looking for her brother but that they weren’t going to kill Morgan.

‘You’re not a killer,’ she said. ‘You are just all mixed up because of your bro. Just like I was when I saw Wendell’s chair. That wasn’t me back there leaving you to die.’

When more zombies approached, Josiah and Sarah got out of the car to fight them. Just then Morgan showed up.

‘I killed you,’ Morgan said to Josiah. ‘I cut your head off.’

‘Morgan Jones,’ said Josiah and the two started fighting.

Josiah told him that he had waited a long time for this. He grabbed his brother’s head to use it to kill Morgan with it.

Rufus jumped in and ended up getting bit by the severed head of Josiah’s twin.

Sarah told him she was not a killer and then got out to the car and cut the head in half. Josiah held Rufus and said ‘what have I done.’

Later when they built a fire with Morgan, Josiah tried to nurse Rufus back to health. He brought him food, but Rufus didn’t eat. Morgan said he was so sorry, but Josiah told him it was all his fault.

‘He should have to suffer for my mistakes,’ said Josiah as he put a gun to Rufus’ head to kill him because he had suffered the zombie bite.

He said he thought he was keeping a promise but that the whole vendetta thing was about him. Sarah told him that she understood. She said Wendell and her weren’t actual twins. She said her mother died during childbirth and she had trouble breathing. She said every time they put her incubator next to another baby who was born that day, her breathing was normal.

‘And that’s Wendell?’ said Josiah.

She said every time she was apart from Wendell that she felt like she couldn’t catch her breath. Josiah then buried Rufus and apologized to Morgan for his own brother’s actions.

Morgan told them they better start moving. He told them that

Victor Strand [Colman Domingo] was alive and was building this place and collecting people. He said that Wendell could be there. Josiah told them that he would like to come with them. Morgan told them that was okay with him and they would need all the help they could get.

Morgan, Sarah, and Josiah arrived at the Victor’s Tower. Victor had set up a call box outside with a sign that said ‘History begins with a single step. Will you take it?’ Morgan told him that June and John were already inside. Sarah picked up the phone and said let’s see if Wendell was in there too.

‘Come on Vic, answer the phone,’ said Sarah.

Just then Howard [Omid Abtahi] appeared and pointed a machine gun at them and demanded to know why they were here. Morgan and Josiah dropped their weapons.

Morgan asked why Victor was too scared to have this conversation face-to-face. Just then Victor appeared. Sarah asked him if Wendell was in the tower with him.Victor told them their instincts were correct and Wendell was with him. She asked him if Wendell was okay.

‘He’s more than okay, he’s thriving,’ said Victor. ‘Wendall has a real knack for supply logistics and management. Must be from his days of keeping you on the road.’

Sarah said that she needed to see him and Victor told her that he remembered who stood by him when it mattered.

‘You weren’t among them,’ Victor said to Sarah.

‘She went through hell to get here,’ said Josiah. ‘Nearly died trying to find him.’

Victor said ‘she’s not going in. None of you are. If you want to see your brother, I’ll tell him to come out but I’m warning you. It’s not a revolving door. Once he is out, there is no going back in.’

Victor reminded them that it was rough on the outside and said that Morgan, Grace and their baby were barely scraping by.

‘This new world is punishing,’ said Victor. ‘If you really want what is best for Wendell, protect him from it.’

Sarah reluctantly agreed and asked him to not tell Wendell she was here. She said if he knew that he would come looking for her. 

Sarah then broke down crying. Josiah told her that she did the right thing and did what he couldn’t. She thanked him.

‘No, thank you both,’ Josiah said to Morgan.

Morgan told them they could both come back with them. Josiah said he was exposed to the warhead and that they didn’t want a sick man on their hands. Sarah then handed him the pills she had taken for Wendell and gave them to him.

‘Thank you,’ said Josiah. He told them he still needed some time.

Sarah told him if he changed his mind that they would be there for him and that he knew how to reach them. Josiah then walked off. Sarah told Morgan that the others would wonder why she walked off. He told her they all couldn’t stay where they were with an open nuclear warhead so close.

‘We are going to get everybody back Sarah,’ said Morgan. ‘And then we are going to get ready for whatever happens next.’

In another area, a horse drawn carriage manned by masked men was stopped.

‘I found something I need to show to Arnold,’ said one of the men.

He asked him what it was and then man said it was ‘the thing that was going to get us exactly what we want.’

That thing appeared to be a nuclear warhead strapped inside the cart.
