The Bachelorette bombs once again and records a grim 288,000 viewers – the second lowest ratings the reality series has seen this season

The Bachelorette completely bombed in the ratings again on Wednesday night.

The reality dating show drew in a pitiful 288,000 viewers, which is the second lowest numbers recorded for one of 10’s biggest underperforming seasons of television.

It was outperformed by Nine’s rival primetime series Parental Guidance, while the ABC found success with Hard Quiz and Gruen.

Results for The Bachelorette have put Channel 10 in a predicament following the show’s consistently poor ratings.

Last Wednesday, the series reported viewing figures of 253,000 – the worst result in the entire history of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.

Thursday’s numbers followed with a mildly better result of 314,000.

The Bachelorette only placed in the 16-39 key demographic.

It came in third after Seven News 6pm and Nine News 6:30pm.

Rival show Parental Guidance beat The Bachelorette once again with 536,000 viewers, while The Chase Australia also came out in front with 543,000.

But it was the public broadcaster that had the most surprising success for Wednesday night with their comedy quiz show Hard Quiz and satirical series Gruen.

Hard Quiz had an impressive 646,000 viewers, while Gruen reported an equally successful 642,000.

In a very rare circumstance, the ABC surpassed network 10 with a 19.3% overnight audience share.

10, which usually places third after Nine and Seven, slumped to a low 15.6% share.

Nine rose to the top with 29.3%, while Seven followed closely behind with 27.8%.
