Today host Allison Langdon calls out Karl Stefanovic after noticing something ‘disgusting’ about him live on air
Allison Langdon noticed a ‘disgusting’ detail about her co-host Karl Stefanovic during a bizarre on-air moment on Monday.
The Today hosts were wrapping up their interview with The Block stars Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie when Ally spotted something on Karl’s necktie.
‘Hang on! More to the point, what’s on your tie? What is that?’ the 42-year-old asked.

A camera zoomed in on a brown spot on his tie, just below his lapel microphone.
‘Um, Ally, it does look like a piece of small mushroom,’ Karl explained.
She asked him if it originated from his nose, to which he replied in outrage: ‘Oh, Ally! That’s disgusting!’

‘I don’t know. That looks gross, that’s disgusting. It doesn’t need to stay there all morning,’ she laughed.
Karl then tried to flick off the hardened piece of mushroom in Ally’s direction as the crew burst into laughter.
The vegetable eventually fell off his tie and Karl joked: ‘Oh Ally, it’s on your face now!’

The back and forth between Karl and Ally comes as the breakfast TV ratings war between Today and Channel Seven’s Sunrise heats up for the first time in years.
Allison told Woman’s Day on Monday the ‘tighter race’ makes for far more compelling television as both programs lift their game.
‘It’s nice that it’s a tighter race these days. It keeps it interesting and keeps everyone on their toes and at their best.’

She said of herself and Karl’s determination to give it their all every single morning: ‘The show – and trying to do the best one possible – is always on our minds.’
The Today show soared ahead of Sunrise in the ratings last Wednesday with a five-city audience of 236,000.
It beat Sunrise, which had 228,000 metro viewers, and ABC News Breakfast, which had a combined audience of 205,000 across ABC and ABC News.
