The Queen delivered her welcoming message virtually after being advised by doctors last week to take two weeks to rest after a very busy schedule upon her return from her summer break. Her Majesty wished all delegates to the COP26 Summit would come together to best tackle the effects of the climate emergency as she gushed over Prince William and Prince Charles for their advocate work. But the video sparked concerns among Royal Family supporters, who rushed to social media to wish Her Majesty a swift return to full health.
Sky News presenter Jonathan Samuels said: “That was Her Majesty delivering a recorded message to the delegates and the leaders here.
“Fittingly, she was wearing green. And, actually, towards the end, it was rather moving and emotional.
“Just on another note, she looks well. She looks tired, I think, but we saw her driving around today.”
Social media user Anders J commented to the Queen’s virtual video saying: “The Queen looks very tired.”
Others however disagreed, with user Toria H responding to Anders J to point out: “She’s 95 Anders.”
The appearance sparked a frenzy of good wishes from around the world.
Twitter user Agit Prop said: “I hope you are feeling better, please take good care! All the best from Bremen, Germany!!”
User Rachel Byrne said: “Beautifully works from The Queen.”
And Paul Ethan commented: “Great speech your Majesty. Stay strong as the Lord keep you safe and bless you always!”
